I bought this new from Best Buy back in early Jan 2009, and decided to upgrade the slow SSD and 1GB of RAM, a 2GB stick. The processor is the 1.6GHz Atom fyi … Upgrades were: Super Talent mini PCIe PCIe Mini FPM16GRSE 16GB (SATA) Internal MLC Solid State Disk (SSD) CORSAIR 2GB 200 DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 pin 5300) Laptop Memory Model VS2GSDS667D2 (both from Newegg) A little under 30 secs in on-screen characters, +7 more load to the desktop = about 37 seconds preparation time. 14 seconds to shut downTime. UPDATE update: DO NOT TO 10.6.2. MIT that Apple will update end support for Atom processors. There are hacked versions of the update, but I have not yet done so only for the information on Google, I will not help you on with the update 10.6.2. This is pack my ASUS EEE PC 1005HA, Mac OSX 10.6.1 Required: iDeneb 1.3 DVD Netbook Installer 0.8.2 File: www.mediafire.com Optical USB DVD drive (there are ways around it without a DVD drive but I do not know how) External Hard Drive Copy ofSnow Leopard 10.6 Eee PC 1005HA and 1008HA (other models could also work) iDeneb boot, and open Disk Utility and partition your external hard drive (or partition your external hard drive) and install iDeneb 1.3 on the external hard drive . Choose from the "Customize" (by chipset) "ICHX fixed" (fixed under Fixes) ACPI CPUs remove one, FireWire, Power Off and Power Management, (under Video, Intel), select GMA950. After installation, you can restart the computer, and make sure to open the boot selectionMenu from the BIOS, and boot into the external hard drive. The next step is to avoid the "Registration loop". Chameleon bootloader appears, press F8 for options in force. Make sure that the Mac partition is highlighted, and type "-s" and then press "Enter". I have the (current) latest version of Moblin on an SD card and booting an Asus Eee PC 900A with him. THS-system features a 1.6 GHz Atom CPU and 1 GB of RAM. I was very surprised at how quickly the system seemed to be. This is a video I recorded from a short tour through the system.
